We're proud to partner with The Red Devils, raising money to advance their mission of funding treatment support for Maryland breast cancer families. Join Mixolo's adventurous solos, with or without a plus-one, at the formidable Encantada, the “restaurant-in-residence” at Baltimore’s vanguard American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM), for a whiskey tasting and pairing.

Encantada, located on AVAM's 3rd floor, features local Chesapeake cooking and partners with regional farms, ranches, and aquaculture, allowing them to offer seasonable fresh products on a daily basis.

Encantada's cutting-edge modern American cuisine is the perfect complement to the boundary-busting AVAM. AVAM houses a collection of “art produced by self-taught individuals, usually without formal training, whose works arise from an innate personal vision that revels foremost in the creative act itself."

We’ll gather in Encantada’s eclectic and inviting dining room and sample three distinctive whiskeys from a notable regional distiller. We’ll soak it up with some whiskey-worthy bites from Encantada’s winter menu.

Learn more about the art of the journey from grain to whiskey. You’ll impress your friends, or annoy them, as you regale them with your knowledge on the distinctions between scotch (aka, whisky, no “e:), whiskey, and bourbon.

You’ll enjoy three generous spirit tastings thoughtfully paired with light bites from the menu.

If you would like to extend your time and take part in a docent-led group tour of the American Visionary Art Museum, please indicate your interest when you register for the Encantada event. An additional $12 charge per person will be assessed.

Encantada’s full-service bar will be open during our visit for additional self-pay refreshments.

Is this event restricted to Mixolo early adopter members and interested event hosts?
Yes, in order to attend this event, we ask that you register with Mixolo in mind as a social network that you will consider joining. We are a network of solo adults pursuing the things we love to do and sharing enriching experiences with other like-minded adults.

How do I become a member and attend this event with Mixolo?
Membership is free. Mixolo will soon debut a multi-platform app. We do not yet have a formal login and profile option on our current pre-app Web/Mobile site. When you register for this event, we will ask for basic identifying information that will automatically qualify you as an early adopter member and subscriber.

The minimum age for this event will be 21. ID will be required, as alcoholic beverages will be offered. Please be prepared to present your state ID or driver’s license upon request.

What are my parking options?
Abundant metered parking, which is also handicapped accessible, is available on Covington Street and Key Highway. Please note that the meters are in effect 24 hours, 7 days a week. Also, be sure to read and follow all signs posted by Baltimore City Parking Authority.

Paid parking is also available in the public parking lot at The Rusty Scupper Restaurant on Key Highway.

Please consider using a ride-share app for easy access and peace-of-mind after a spirited evening.
